The Power of the Written Word

​Being able to clearly communicate information through reports, letters, and emails is a necessary part of the job of a landman. Here are some things to focus on when trying to improve your skills:
  1. Keep your audience in mind and write accordingly.
  2. Use spell check.
  3. Brush up on the basics of grammar, capitalization, and punctuation, so that your writing comes across as professional and polished.
  4. Be concise. This is something that comes with experience in the profession; over time, a new landman will get better at identifying and pulling out the relevant information.
Overall, remember that the point of writing is to convey an idea or information to someone else. In order to clearly get your message across, it needs to easily be read and understood.
